A California native, Susan started ceramics and porcelain painting in 1990 when she began taking lessons and seminars from various teachers including Sue Lancaster, Carlos Spina, Solange Moberg, and others.

In 1993 she opened her own ceramic shop, selling supplies and teaching classes. She encouraged her students to enter the local competition and actively participates herself. She has won 1st place for her clay sculptures at the Beatrice Wood Center for the Arts twice in the last few years and exhibited at the American Museum of Ceramic Art in Pomona and sells at the Los Angeles Arboretum.
